Morrowind and Oblivion

Hi, have uninstalled & reinstalled Oblivion. (had loads of probs with vanishing items)
when I try to close game it won't, have to turn off the puter. Also getting crashes during play, any ideas.

I've never had any problems with Oblivion - no crashes, no unusal behaviour, and, to be honest, I've not really heard of anyone having these kind of problems.

It may be the setup of your computer that's the problem - especially random crashes that can be caused by a faulty memory module. If you have two or more modules try taking one out and play without it. Keep doing this to determine which module, if any, is faulty.

don't think it is the computer as no probs with any other progs. think probably a corrupt file or similar. Crashes at the same place, trying to open gate in K have just closed oblivion gate, go inside, down stairs, up stairs click on the ladder to go up & 'black out.' Up to this point if I try to close game down it just freezes & have to swith off puter & restart it. Badger downloaded a patch (no idea which) & now game won't even load, click on load & it just goes back to desktop.
Oh well, just seems to be me & games, perhaps it's time to retire to the knitting!!!!! Perhaps I need some sort of puter course for total idiots!!!
